I was wondering if someone could provide me with a complete list of all schools in the Caribbean that are accredited in Canada...

I've read a lot about american info but i cant find anything specifically for Canada..

I've exhausted most of the forums and talked with several of the admissions officers from Caribbean schools and the theme everywhere seems to be the same: complete your undergrad in Canada when and where possible, and get into a Canadian Med School. This way you have the greatest chance of staying in Canada and actually becoming a doctor. And I love BC, I'd like to stay here.....

 

The challenge for me is I am 34, and have spent the last 16 years in business. I have no undergraduate degree or credits for that matter - just a simple high school education. I got into business at 18 and never looked back.  For an older non-traditional student that really wants to go to medical school and become a doctor, and does NOT need a degree as plan B, it seems clear that the fastest way to become a practicing doc is via the Caribbean med schools. But....is there something I am missing here? Am I being naive? Aside from the fact that returning to Canada may be a long shot?

 

In the same amount of time that I could take the pre-med program and transfer directly into an MD program in the Caribbean (5 years approx start to finish) it would take me that long just to finish 90 credits part time here in Canada so I could apply to med school and there would be no guarantee I would get in. I know its been done but I don't want to be 45 by the time I enter med school.

 

Would welcome any thoughts / feedback from some other Canucks out there. And love to hear from some older students as well. Thanks in advance
