No, it will not look bad if you do your electives in Canada.
 
Some people apply for residency before they have completed their electives, if they have already passed USMLE Step 1 and 2.

Yes you can apply to medical schools in the Caribbean.

Each school varies with regard to its prereqs, but I encourage you to read the websites of the schools you are interested in.

Also the newer schools tend to accept anyone that applies because they are so desperate for students. But you may want to stay away from such new schools.
